About Student Nurse Lisa

I’m a nursing student from Sydney, Australia.
As I was about to begin my studies in 2013 I decided that I would love to blog my thoughts, experiences and ideas throughout my university degree….it will be very interesting to look back on in 3 years time once I have completed my bachelor of nursing!

    Hi Lisa,
My Dr of Education thesis is on the positives and perils of social networking for nurses. I plan to interview successful nurse bloggers about how they manage to avoid crossing professional boundaries with issues such as confidentiality. It’s really about helping our younger nurses avoid problems. I am sorting ethics approval at the moment, but I was wondering if I could interview you?

Just want to leave a quick comment on your blog. I’ve just read through your posts and although a lot of time has passed between blogs of your first year, it looks fantastic and the way you’ve described your experiences appears very genuine. I’ve applied to begin studying nursing in Jan, 2014 and Newcastle University, and I’ll definitely be following your blog for some further inspiration.

Hi Emily, I am not currently studying nursing or maintaining this blog. But not because I didn’t enjoy it, I had a baby 12 months ago and am focusing on my little family for a while. When I return to nursing in the future (not sure when) I’ll continue to blog again πŸ™‚

Hi Lisa! I’m wondering if you could please contact me via email? I would love your permission to use one of your blogs as part of a learning experience for some students studying with a private training provider I work for in Auckland, NZ. Looking forward to hearing from you. Amelia

      Hi Amelia,
I’m not sure of your email but it’s fine if you use my blog as you requested.
I’m not maintaining the blog at the moment as I’ve taken an extended break in my studies while we have children (I’m pregnant with our second at the moment).
Feel free to share my blog posts as long as I’m credited as the author.

Hi Lisa! Are you still in Aus? I am going to start my life as a nursing student in Canberra next year. What are your thoughts regarding the nursing course there? I am from the Philippines by the way.

        Hi rielxty,
I am still in Australia but haven’t been actively studying for about 2 years now. I can’t really give you any insight about the courses in Canberra. I’m sure as long as you’re studying at a reputable university then the course will be good. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Good luck with your studies πŸ™‚
